Employee Benefits in the Diocese

Each Parish establishes an employee benefit program for both clergy and lay in compliance with National and Nebraska Canons and meeting the minimum requirements set by the diocese.

National Canons require that Health Insurance provided by parishes must be purchased from the Episcopal Church Medical Trust. Here are the 2025 Health and Dental premiums and general descriptions of the plans offered in the Diocese of Nebraska. And here are the 2026 Health and Dental premiums.

The parish must report to Beth Byrne, Director of Finance, the hiring of all clergy and any lay employee who is scheduled to work more than 1,000 hours annually prior to their start date.  She will assist the parish in enrolling employees in the employee benefit plans provided by the Church Pension Group.  Contact Beth if you have questions about employee benefits in the Diocese. 402-341-5373.
