Financial Resources to Support Ministry

Revolving Loan Fund

The Bishop & Trustees of the diocese maintain a revolving loan fund that provides low interest loans to DioNeb parishes, principally for major capital improvements and repairs to church buildings.

Bishop’s Society Curacy Program

The Bishop’s Society Curacy Program recruits and fully compensates new priests who participate in a three-year Curacy divided between serving on the staff of a larger, metro area church and smaller ex-urban church in greater Nebraska. Participating parishes do not contribute towards the compensation of Bishop’s Society Curates.

Clarkson Grants

The Bishop Clarkson Foundation sponsors annual granting programs targeted towards immediate diocesan needs and mission priorities. Recent initiatives have funded post-pandemic readiness ministries, church growth initiatives and clergy continuing education projects.

Bishop’s Discretionary Fund

Bishop Barker is the custodian of a discretionary fund that is regularly enriched by gifts offered during his parish visits. These funds are appropriately used to support those in great need – including through the support of local church programming that serves the poor, the marginalized and the outcast.

Clarissa Cook Fund

Through the gift of Clarissa Cook, a diocesan fund was established to provide for repairs and improvements to church-owned rectories.
